April Abbott's Social Adventures

Thoughtful matchmaking for singles with college and graduate degrees who are interested in serious relationships.

 April Abbott has been helping couples get together since 1986. Her clients include academics, physicians, attorneys, psychotherapists, artists, writers, businesspeople, computer consultants and graduate students. Ages range from late twenties to early sixties. She is most successful with singles in their 30's and 40's and with women in their late 20's and with men in their late 40's and early 50's.

Social Adventures has been favorably profiled by Chicago Magazine, the Chicago Tribune, the Sun-Times, and the Jewish United Fund News. Advertising is minimal, and clients are obtained mostly by word of mouth. The satisfaction rate among clients is high.

 April Abbott tries to give singles a sense of dignity. The initial interview is free, and there is no pressure to join. April is more interested in matching people she likes than she is in capitalizing on people's singleness. Rapport with her clients is essential. Rates are: $200 for a 3 month membership (3 matches guaranteed) or $300 for a 6 month membership (6 matches guaranteed).
 
 

 April provides personal, direct attention to each client, so clients must be able to meet her in person. Her office is in the Hyde Park Bank building, near the University of Chicago and the Museum of Science and Industry. Appointments can be scheduled for Saturdays and Sundays as well as during the week.
